Church Camp 2017

Church Camp will be held June 19-23, 2017 at Grand Oaks Baptist Camp in Chillicothe.  All children and youth who have completed 3rd grade up through 12th grade are encouraged to attend.

Summer Mission Trip 2017

Plans are already in the works for a Construction Mission Trip in Barrow, Illinois this summer.  The first week will be June 25-July 1, and the second week will be July 9-15.  The construction projects include building two additions to the existing building which is used for children’s camp.  Our team of volunteers built the existing building for the Sandy Creek Baptist Association years ago.  The location of the camp is in Barrow, IL whish is a few miles from Pastor Alan King’s church.

The new dining hall will be 40’ X 32’, and a room for cooks to stay in will be 10’ X 30’.  A lean-to will also be constructed which is 12’ X 70’.  The construction will have metal siding and roofing.  There will be 10 windows in install and 4 doors.  The project will include truss rafters and 2 X 6 walls.  Skills needed will be carpenters, plumbers, sheet rockers, and electricians.

Lodging:  There are tow campgrounds within 6 miles with full hook-ups.  The church also has 4 hook-ups with no sewer.  Two rooms at the camp have 10 bunks each for workers.  Meals:  The Association and Pastor Alan’s Church will be providing the cooks and the meals for this project.  Pastor Alan has requested 20 workers maximum each.

The project will be needed for camp in July, so it is important to have the work completed before camp starts. Please call Charles Fattig at 660-652-3384 if you would like to be put on the list to work on this project.
